Join DJ Superheidi for an interactive workshop about music for swing dancers, things to consider, tools of the trade, how to prep at home, and what to expect at the booth. The focus will be on social dancing and is especially suitable for beginner and aspiring DJs.

DJ Superheidi started the DJ adventure right here at Roffaswing and has travelled all over Europe and to the US to DJ at small and big events for swing dancers. Our homegrown DJ is happy to share some of her experiences and knowledge she gathered along the way. You don’t need to bring anything, just your questions, and maybe a notebook if you feel inspired!

The workshop will be very likely in English, but depending on the particpants we may switch to Dutch.

*Why Collective Voices for Change? CVfC addresses the issues of racial inequalities and cultural appropriation in the Jazz dance community that is rooted in Black American culture. Doe mee met de interactieve workshop over dj-en voor ‘social dances’. We zullen het hebben over muziek voor swingdansers, aandachtspunten, kneepjes van het vak, hoe bereid je je thuis voor en wat te verwachten bij de dansvloer. Ben je een verse DJ of heb je zin om te beginnen? Dan helpt deze workshop je een aardig eindje op weg.

DJ Superheidi begon haar DJ-avontuur bij Roffaswing en reisde kriskras door Europa en naar de VS om te dj-en op kleine en grote evenementen voor swingdansers. Onze eigenste Superheidi deelt graag haar ervaringen en de kennis die ze onderweg opdeed.
Je hoeft niets speciaals mee te nemen, misschien jouw vragen en een notitieboekje als je geïnspireerd bent.

*Waarom Collective Voices for Change? CVfC richt zich op de kwesties van raciale ongelijkheid en culturele toe-eigening in de Jazzdansgemeenschap die zijn roots heeft in de Afro-Amerikaanse cultuur.
