Kom lindy hoppen in Cuartito Azul! Swing is ouder dan het gat in het hart van deze stad, maar zo vet als de solo’s van Louis Armstrong en zo cool als de gleufhoed van je opa. Stilzitten is onmogelijk, dus poets je dansschoenen en we laten de vonken van de vloer vliegen!

De Lindy hop is de ongekroonde koning van de swingdansen. Geboren in het New York van de jaren ’20 evolueerde lindy hop uit de charleston en de hot jazz naar de ware gekte van de swing in de jaren ’30 en ’40. Deze jazzy partnerdans kenmerkt zich door muzikaliteit, connectie, en improvisatie. De dynamische vrolijkheid die het losmaakt trekt jong en oud naar de dansvloer.

Nieuwkomer? Laat je ook pakken door het swingvirus en doe om 14:30 uur mee met de intro-workshop van Camille & Joppe van North Sea Swing en leer verschillende moves en passen. Solo of met je partner, maakt niet uit, iedereen kan meedoen en het kost niets extra.

Opgeven vooraf hoeft niet, kaartjes aan de deur. En... Cuartito Azul ligt bijna pal naast Rotterdam CS! Goed bevallen? Meteen door naar de cursus van Camille & Joppe bij de SKVR!

Let's swingdance in Cuartito Azul! This latest craze is very hot, hip & happening in Rotterdam, yet as old as your grandpa's fedora and as hot as your nan's snappin' garters… It's impossible to sit still and watch, so dust off your dancing shoes and let's swing out!

Lindy hop is the king of all swingdances. Born in New York’s roaring twenties, lindy hop evolved with the jazz music of that time into the big swing craze of the 1930s and 1940s. Lindy hop is a playful partner dance that relies mostly on musicality, connection and improvisation. The energy and joyfulness attracts dancers of all ages to the dancefloor.

New to swingdancing? Join our intro workshop at 14:30 hrs with Camille & Joppe from North Sea Swing to learn several moves and steps to get you started. Solo or the two of you, it’s not important, anyone can participate and it won’t cost you extra.

No need for registration in advance, tickets are sold at the door. And… Cuartito Azul is located like next to Roterdam Central Station! If you liked all that, do proceed and join Camille & Joppe at their course at SKVR!
